All About Me, ME, MEEEEE!!!
![]()
I'm under the impression that no one gives a rat's ass about the webmaster unless she screws up, but then I heard that Jon occasionally gets on the Internet and therefore might, out of sheer curiosity, look for sites about him. (Wouldn't you? I would. I just wouldn't tell anybody.) Were he to do so, I thought that some information about how sane I am and how I do not in any way, shape, or form fit the typical stalker's profile would assuage any potential concerns for his safety, especially since I persist in the eerily familiar habit of calling him by his first name.
I'm in my mid-twenties, which is dangerously close to the age of the 31-year old president of the Ricky Martin fan club that Jon ridiculed for being, well . . . 31. However, in her case, she may have a good excuse. Perhaps she was a big Menudo fan when she was younger, and therefore her current obsession might be residual. I have the same leftover adolescent affection for Duran Duran.
Unfortunately, Jon isn't one of those childhood things -- I didn't know I liked him until a few years ago. Though I created this site because I really do adore him, my impetus was also quite practical. There simply aren't that many sites for Jon out there, and that's just a shame. It was important to me to add to Jon's presence in cyberspace. I guess I could have created an X-Files site since I love that show too, but being X-Files site number 1,752 didn't move me as much as being Jon Stewart site number 17. I hope you find the site unique, funny, interesting, and useful. I pride myself on keeping the events up-to-date and providing stuff no one else has.
I currently live in
the Midwest with two cats (which is just enough to make me happy, but just
short of becoming "that lady with the cats"). I am an honest person
who keeps her checkbook balanced and signals properly before turning. My favorite
television shows are Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Simpsons (excluding
the first season and most of the last three seasons), NewsRadio (excluding
the first and last seasons), the aforementioned X-Files (saw Deep Throat on
the Golden Girls in boxers and no pants, which demystifies him a bit, don't
you think?), David Letterman (may he live forever), old episodes of The State
(pork - u - pine!), and Monty Python (duh). My favorite authors are Jon Irving,
Tim O'Brien, Toni Morrison, and Graham Greene. My favorite poets are Mark
Strand, Gwendolyn Brooks, and Shakespeare (duh). My favorite foods are Bulgogi,
Biji, and crème brulette (one of these things is not like the other . . .
). My favorite sock materials are cotton, silk, and wool. My favorite brand
of scissors is Fiskars.
Fiskars:
The last name in scissors.
My favorite guilty,
I-won't-admit-it-if-you-ask-me-about-it pleasures are six Dragonlance novels,
pre-1986 Duran Duran, and Santa Barbara episodes from the late 80s (can you
believe that Robert, with the help of his mysterious and powerful mob boss,
tried to take over Eden's corporate family empire like that even though he
loved her so much because they had that relationship before when he was an
island boy thief and she was visiting the island on her daddy's yacht, but
she didn't remember him because she suffered from amnesia triggered by the
trauma of her Capwell CEO father forbidding them from seeing each other and
consummating the love that could not be, the deep and undying love that was
symbolized by the crystalline statue of the nude woman, which actually hid
a secret key to their old hiding place, which Cruz found and didn't tell Eden
about because he was jealous of Robert even though Cruz and Eden were married?).
Happy
trails.
