There will be no bad reviews until someone pisses me off. In fact, these aren't really even reviews. You may have noticed that I suffer from extreme narcissism. Accordingly, these will be more like my Ambles, i.e., what I thought, what I was doing, what makes me so great, why you should bow to me, why the SSS will soon take over the world and enslave all the . . .
Oooooh. I said too much.
Enjoy.
Jon Stewart Rules My Face, by Teevie, at http://doseoflogic.com/js/index.html
Neat notable:
Historical stuff, including a timeline and an archive of all guests on The
Daily Show.

"Spectacular! Awesome Thrillride! This Summer's Biggest Blockbuster!"
(And the webmaster signed the guestbook before knowing that I'd do these reviews!
How about that?!)
Seriously, this is such an established site that it was one of the first I found when I started Jon Stewart surfing. Then I couldn't find it again. Then I found it again. And that's when I realized that the tone of my own site pretty much echoed this one. ("All Hail the Dark One." Agreed.) And I thought I was being original. Humph. Turns out I'm a wuss, a whore, and a copycat.
As far as I know, this is the oldest Jon Stewart site. That fact alone accords it some respect. I have always liked people who find good things first. (To this day I'm awed at my brother's ability to start bandwagons, not jump on them. He saw The X-Files pilot when it first aired, for god's sakes.) The site is old in cyberspace terms. Elderly, even. It's also the one that comes closest to admiring and mirroring the qualities of Jon Stewart that I like the most, i.e., his irreverence, his sharp wit, and his darkness. With all the girly goo that everyone gushes over Jon, (not that I haven't done a little ga ga-ing myself), I find it easy to forget that the root of my admiration comes from the dark, not the light.
It was on this site that I first read the old online chats that Jon did (no one else had them then.) And it was then that I realized how brilliant Jon Stewart was. Sitting there, hunched over his keyboard, probably smoking like mad, he was funnier than any decent human being had any right to be. I like to think that the Teevie, the webmaster, does the same thing, muttering irritably about the webmaster "young-uns" today and their little sites to the modern Jon, when back in the old days, Jon was really something, boy, there are some tales about his MTV show, why, comedy was special then, that was back when comedians walked fifty miles to the studio through snow and sleet, not like these lazy comics today, no siree bob, back then Big Jon could pick up ten audience members and break them in two, he could, and still have the strength to write seventy hours of material and chop fifty logs for firewood before noon with a broken shinbone and rheumatism in both elbows . . . .
I'm sorry. My imagination got away from me. Go visit and enjoy. Don't mind the swearing and remember to leave the heat on.

It's a strange world, cyberspace. Perfect strangers can come together to create perfect pages for perfect people. The creators of the JSEB have never met each other, never touched each other, never accidentally slapped each other on the ear (sorry mom), and yet they have, as a group, single-handedly (or is it triple-handedly?) created the largest Jon Stewart club on the 'net. After Miss Manda added her boatload of stuff, they also became the most comprehensive one.
The site has come a long way from it's casual vertical stripes and the hilarious question: "Do these stripes make us look fat?" but the humor and the enthusiasm of the site is still there. They keep things lively with their semi-regular newsletter and occasional contests. I admit that I have a fondness for the site because I'm a member myself and have contributed two of my Ambles for their newsletter. (They also selected me twice for their Jon Stewart Site of the Month, but since there are not much more than 20 of us, I try to keep my vanity in check.)
It's a strange world, cyberspace. Perfect strangers can meet in a universe rife with pornography, vulgarity, cheating, stealing, and ugliness, yet still find those islands of peace where they can be kind to each other. Jon Stewart webmasters are generally a good group, and the JSEB has been particularly kind to me. Visit them, join them, and help them all you can. They are lovely people who love a lovely man. Jon Stewart fans are good people. We do him justice.
